A Message from the Co-Leader of Servant of the People
Fellow Guyanese, Greetings in the name of the Most High God in who I trust and serve with faithfulness and belief!
Recently something very disturbing took place in Guyana which seems to me, that far too many other Guyanese seemingly regarded as either the norm, or will become the norm. My brothers and sisters regardless of your ethnicity such things that had happen should have never happen. I am making specific references to the incident that took place between Police Officer Ms. Shawnette Bollers and Mr. Nirvan Singh. It is a case of merit and of distinction in which not only her constitutional right that is given to her as a person, as a human being on the face of the earth, but also as police officer in the Guyana Police Force (GPF) were all seriously violated. Such despicable behavior has the potentials to creates a dangerous situation and disturb set precedent of the civil liberties and constitutional rights for all Guyanese be it Man, Woman or Child. We cannot and should not allow that and other likes to become A Norm or The Norm. We owe it to ourselves and to future generations of this our nation, to allow not such behavior to take precedent over the norm and decency of man. To spit on another human being especially another race is the most disgraceful act that can be performed and served upon a human being. Such appalling behavior shows the intensity of disrespect of the constitution and the constitutional rights guarantees to us, in our beloved country Guyana.
It is very disturbing to hear that a citizen of one race in Guyana can be verified as carrying the idiotic gene that was mutated at time of conception but acknowledges gain of function in April 2020. In what other way can it be said in the 21st century when one race finds the wants and needs to denigrate a human being of another race by referring to them as a “Black Monkey” and continue to reason in their ignorance that “Black People Have No Purpose In Life.” This blatant racist arrogance of Mr. Nirvan Singh, is not only an insult and downright disrespect for Afrikaans Guyanese, it is also divisive and guilty of the worst firm of ethnocentrism that both the DDP and Magistrate have failed to reprimand and condemn Mr. Singh’s, whose behavior is both alarming and worrying though in silence, has the potential to become noisy if not carefully address and handled in a humane sensible manner. We must at no time taken our fellow Guyanese, may it Afro Guyanese, Indo Guyanese, Chinese Guyanese, Indigenous Guyanese, Mixed Race Guyanese or Portuguese Guyanese for granted regardless of their socioeconomic status. Although all fingers have been pointing in one direction, the concerns of the people are still to be address, but more so ignored by those that the fingers is pointing towards and that is worry some as it’s dangerous to our nation. This and other stubbornness will cease and come to and end in 2025 because “He who forgives but doesn’t Forget” has heard the extra cry of the people of Guyana.
It must also be brought to the attention of the Government of Guyana, that the DDP, Magistrate and Mr. Singh despicable behavior is shameful, equally disgraceful and ethically unacceptable. It is deplorable and inconceivable that both the government and the opposition should allow this blatant violation to go without redress. Such in secured behavior cannot be considered as leadership for any country. Guyana’s judicial system must act fairly and without malice in the adjudication of matters when matters of rights and justice has been severely compromised. Such behavior should not be entertained in the public, in the future.
In conclusion, while Mr. Nirvan Singh’s unacceptable caricature of Afrikan Guyanese attest to his regrettably backward and almost imbecilic mindset, it demonstrates the need for both government and civil institutions in Guyana to be more vigilant and proactive in ensuring that no section of the Guyanese population should ever be subjected to any form of inhumane, degrading, demeaning or unjust treatment.
Guyana is one, as the motto “One People, One Nation, One Destiny” informs us. As such it must and will remain one, if we the people of this rainbow country are to achieve success and greatness for all Guyanese. We must not allow anyone, to discriminate, separate, divide or segregate us anymore in the future for their personal or political gains. We must be mindful of opportunists who while holding their Campaign baskets in one hand are also holding their Champaign glasses in the other hand while mockingly displaying scant regard for the nation’s best interests
My brothers and sisters due to the mind set of some peculiar human being many have said that two wrong does not make one right. Well my answer to those mind set is “it’s not about two wrong or one right”. It is about a stitch in time saves nine. Simply put it means that a situation such as this one has the potential to explode, and disrupt peace through the germination of hate among Guyanese. I hope that this incident is viewed as the last straw that will break the proverbial camel’s back of selective racist abuse. No official whose salary is granted to them from the hard working Guyanese tax payers should be allowed to abuse them. Again I ask where are the people’s representation? Where are the constitutional checks and balances that will prevent such appalling and distasteful behavior against all fellow Guyanese from happening in the future? The authorities must redress this abysmal disgrace without delay.
